Day 42

Still lots going on at the house!! Today, we had exterior work, cabinetry and paint!
I lost count of the truck loads of sandy dirt brought in for the drain field for our septic system.
I'm not sure if the actual tank was placed this morning, or if that will happen tomorrow...but they were working on it. It - and the drain field - is going in a great place in the yard, where it won't be in the way if we put a pool in later.
The kitchen cabinets started getting their molding. They will also get rope trim.

The island cabinets were installed.
A full kitchen shot.
One side of the island - which has cabinets for storage.
The other side of the island - which has cupboards and drawers.
The vanity in the powder room. This ended up being larger than I originally wanted, but it works. The girls' bathroom vanity looks the same, but is slightly larger.

And the painters got all the caulking and trim work primed upstairs.

Only one small snafu today, and it was very quickly remedied. The boys' bathrooms vanity was not the way it was supposed to be - it had no drawers, only cupboards underneath. I thought that it may have been mixed up with the powder room, but the installation man said that it wouldn't fit. After the installer made a few phone calls, it was all worked out, and the cabinet will be replaced with the one that has drawers. Once again, I can't say enough about the people who work for Ernest Homes - from the sub contractors taking the time to answer questions patiently to David making sure that the cabinet is perfect. We definitely made the right choice in our builder.
